Attendance Service

Attendance Service providers are contracted by the Ministry to: 

• Support schools in the management of persistent unjustified absence, after the school has made all reasonable attempts to engage the learner
  
  
• Locate learners who have been absent from school for more than 20 consecutive days without a justified reason, and where appropriate facilitate enrolment in a school or another legal learning environment.
  
  
• Referrals to the Attendance Service are made by schools
  
  
• Provide a responsive proactive service focused on early intervention.

Mental Health

Here at Arowhenua Whanau Services we have a Mental Health Team of two Registered Nurses and a Support Worker. The staff role is to assess the patient need and offer support and education to assist recovery.

Mostly we deal with Depression, Anxiety, Grief and Addiction issues.

Referral to our Service can come from the person themselves, or from GP; friend; family.

Our Service is free, confidential and available to anyone in the South Canterbury, of any ethnicity, over the age of 12 years.

Maternity services

Community Dietician

A community dietician is available to discuss your dietary needs, who can meet you here in our health clinic or at home by arrangement.

Health Assessments

Health assessments are completed at the time of 1st consultation, followed up by a comprehensive consultation within 2 weeks of the 1st consultation. A care plan is then designed to prioritise your health needs.

Home health visits 

Our nurses can visit you in your home for convenience.

Screening & Referral

Comprehensive assessments will identify your health needs and our team can facilitate access by referral to other health agencies as appropriate.

Tamariki Ora

This free service provides health checks, education, support and follow-up services to all pepe/tamariki from birth to five years and their whanau/families within the Aoraki region.
